The School of Nursing in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Health invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, probationary faculty position at Instructor rank, with a focus in Nurse Practitioner Adult or Family All Ages care. Exceptional cases at the Senior Instructor rank may be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduate and/or graduate students as well as mentor/advise graduate students. The teaching assignments will include teaching in the undergraduate nursing (BScN) and graduate programs including nurse practitioner as well as courses to reflect the expertise of the successful candidate within the needs of the School. Courses will be taught by means of interprofessional education; distance, online and context-based learning; and/or clinical simulation learning.
Applicants must hold a Nurse Practitioner license and a minimum of a Masters degree in Nursing. PhD prepared in Nursing an asset. All applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to developing excellence in their teaching and practice. A combination of four to five years’ clinical and teaching experience with a focus in Nurse Practitioner Adult or Family All Ages care. Certification or experience in clinical simulation learning in nursing education is an asset.
Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. The candidate is expected to become an active and engaged member of the School, Faculty and University. Activities at local, national and international levels are expected to promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning at Dalhousie. There is no expectation of a research workload associated with this position.
