The College of Nursing invites applications from RN(NP)s for three full-time Instructor II or Senior Instructor positions that are two-year term, commencing July 1, 2025, or on a date mutually agreed upon. Qualified candidates will possess substantive knowledge and relevant experience in nurse practitioner practice, post-secondary nursing education, and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The responsibilities of this position include teaching and service. The successful candidate will provide leadership in service to the College, University, and professional /academic communities, committees and activities.
The College of Nursing seeks an emerging or established scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. Exceptional candidates will be considered with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below:
POSITION:
The responsibilities of the Instructor position include teaching and service. The successful candidates will contribute to the academic development, delivery, and evaluation of theory and clinical practice courses in the undergraduate and nurse practitioner programs, including clinical education instruction, skills and simulation instruction, as well as clinical objective structured examinations. The incumbents will integrate scholarship into theoretical and clinical teaching; provide leadership in the integration of relevant concepts related to the undergraduate and nurse practitioner programs, provide leadership in ongoing curriculum revision; provide leadership in the integration of entry level competencies for RN(NP)s in Nurse Practitioner Program courses and collaborate with professional and community organizations. The successful candidates will offer courses on-site or through various distance education modalities and participate in professional development opportunities to build knowledge and skills as an educator. The service duties will include participation on college/faculty/university committees and service to the profession and/or the community.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing required
• Registration as a RN(NP) with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required or eligible to register
• A proven track record of excellence in teaching with expertise in delivering and evaluating flipped classes, blended learning, flexible delivery, online delivery and other innovative modalities
• Ability to provide leadership in the continuous evaluation and improvement of the curriculum, innovation in teaching, and enhancement of student experience
• Expertise in teaching and assessment of students in clinical settings, skills and simulation labs using best practice principles and evidence-based knowledge
• Recent clinical practice experience in related area preferred
• Ability to undertake appropriate administrative tasks
• Excellent communication and interaction skills
• Ability to foster collegial relationships
• Scholarly capabilities

The rank will be based on a tiered structure that takes into account applicant’s experience, skills and education.
