The Associate Vice President, Students (AVP Students) will report directly to the Provost & Vice President, Academic and will lead capable leaders in the Registrar, Student Life and Library Services functions, and serve as the main liaison with the Student Association.

The AVP Students will collaborate with various engaged parties across all programs and campuses and provide strategic leadership in terms of advancing BCIT’s mission to further enhance the overall student experience and ensure that BCIT’s offerings squarely align with the needs and aspirations of its diverse student body.

As the ideal candidate, you have gained your positive leadership qualities from one or more of the more typical student services functions, or may come from a faculty or administration senior leadership position where your passion for student success is equal only to your ability to bring people together. You bring the skills required to bridge the perspectives of students, faculty, administration and the overall needs of the organization, drawing on previous roles within a polytechnic, college or university setting. You have excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, plus solid financial, administrative and change management skills. A Master’s degree is required.

This role, based out of BCIT’s main campus in Burnaby, BC, is perfect for an experienced leader who sets high standards and whose principles are grounded in student success and collegial governance. The salary range for this position is minimum: $181,285; control point: $226,607; maximum: $260,598. Placement within a salary band is typically up to the control point based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity. Placement above the control point may be approved in limited circumstances.
