About the Department of Child Studies and Social Work
The Bachelor of Child Studies degree within the Department of Child Studies and Social Work, Faculty of Health, Community and Education at Mount Royal University invites applications for a one-year Limited Term position which will commence August 15, 2025. This position will be hired into the Teaching and Service (TS) stream, teaching four courses in both the Fall and Winter semesters.

The degree maintains a progressive approach to studies that focus on children and youth and emphasizes experiential learning in early learning and child and youth care. The degree provides a theoretical foundation and valuable hands-on learning opportunities in and outside of the classroom.
Going beyond traditional program offerings, the Bachelor of Child Studies focuses on creating experienced, well-rounded graduates who are prepared to become strong advocates for children, youth and families or pursue further education at a graduate school level.


About the Role
The Bachelor of Child Studies is made up of two programs, Early Learning and Child Care and Child and Youth Care Counsellor. Both programs emphasize collaboration and community leadership, equipping students with a combination of theory and practical skills to make a difference in the lives of children and youth. We are currently looking to hire someone to teach in the Child and Youth Care program, with a specific focus on counselling skills, leadership, and Child and Youth Care practice. The successful applicant will have: a Master’s degree in Child and Youth Care or related discipline (PhD preferred), a Child and Youth Care credential, and practice experience in the Child and Youth Care field.
