Management Information Systems (MIS) - Assistant/Associate Professor, or Full Professor

Applications are invited for two full-time tenured or full-time probationary (tenure-track) positions in Management Information Systems (MIS) in the Department of Accounting and Finance in the I. H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba. The appointment may be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor depending on experience and qualifications. The start date for the appointment is July 1, 2025. The maximum probationary period for an Assistant Professor is six (6) years. Salary is competitive and commensurate to qualifications and experience.

Duties for the position include producing quality research, teaching at Undergraduate and Graduate levels, and providing professional service for the School, the University, and the Academic Community. Candidates must have completed or nearly completed a Ph.D. in MIS, Business Analytics, or a related area. We are open to a broad range of research interests, but the successful candidate must be able to teach courses in the area of MIS and Business Analytics. At the Assistant Professor rank, candidates must display a promising research agenda and have demonstrated success in teaching. At the Associate Professor rank, candidates must have a strong research orientation, a demonstrated record of high-quality publications and successful experience in academic teaching. At the Professor rank, candidates must demonstrate leadership in research, an excellent record of high-quality publications and successful experience in academic teaching.

The I. H. Asper School of Business is the principal business school in the Province of Manitoba and is accredited by AACSB. The I. H. Asper School of Business offers undergraduate, MFin, MBA, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. The I. H. Asper School of Business is a research-intensive institution comprised of approximately 56 full-time faculty members (representing over 13 countries) publishing in leading academic journals. For example, we published 13 FT50 journal articles in the past academic year (2023-2024). The normal teaching load at the I. H. Asper School of Business is four courses per year (e.g., 2 + 2), with a course release for the first year.

Substantial start-up research funding is provided to new faculty members, as is a fully paid six-month research study leave after three years (which extends the maximum untenured period).
